Projects submitted for consideration must be completed by the application deadline of June 1, 2018, and must be located within the five-parish Imperial Calcasieu region. Winners will be recognized at the 2018 "Growing SWLA Strong" Awards Program on August 2, 2018. The guest speaker for the awards event is Governor John Bel Edwards.

There are several categories, with winning projects demonstrating one or more of the following attributes:

  • A developer's vision for filling a market niche or bringing a new and innovative product to market
  • Has curb appeal that enhances an area
  • Incorporates innovative design and/or construction techniques (technology, energy, environment)
  • Applies Smart Growth principles
  • Has a positive economic impact to the community

Project/Award categories are:

  • Subdivision
  • Multifamily (Apartments, Townhomes, Condominiums)
  • Mixed-Use Development
  • Commercial (Retail, Office, Lodging)
  • Industrial
  • Institutional (Education, Place of Worship, Civic)
  • Rehabilitation (Commercial or Residential)
  • Landscape
  • Public Servant - Elected; Public Servant - Employee (No entry fee for this category)

Submission of forms:

Multiple entries are allowed, but each entry must include the following:

  1. Attached application, inclusive of project description and fee. This form can be filled out on-line at APGrowth.org.
  2. Applicable plans (site, floor, landscape, final plat, etc).
  3. Photographs (no less than 3, no more than 8 with descriptions of each). If Rehab, provide before/after photos. Photos must be sent on-line, via e-mail, or provided on a thumb drive. If electronic copies are not available of the site plan, floor plan, landscape plan and final plat, mail or deliver to the APG office. Photographs must be saved to a minimum of 3”x 5” size, at resolution equal to or greater than 300 DPI and in a JPEG, TIF, EPS or PDF form.

The project description and pictures are the primary elements that will be used during the banquet and in Good Growth Awards promotions. If copies must be returned, please make provisions at delivery.
